Areas of Contribution in Physics:

  • Electricity and Magnetism

Contributions to Physics:

  • Ohm's Law: V = I R or Potential Difference = Current * Resistance
  • This is true so long as temperature of the resistor remains constant

History/Fun Facts:

  • Started out as a high school teacher
  • Ohm's Law was considered invalid when it was first published
  • Became a professor
  • Made his own wire which was consistently good quality
  • Spent a good number of years living in poverty
  • Was the director of the Polytechnic Institute
  • Passed away at the age of 65
